A great atmospheric and welcoming place, in the Indian Himalayan town of Dharamsala, the Paper Factory for Handmade Tibetan Paper is simply a great place with great products.
Clean Upper Dharamsala is, as far as we know, the only project IM has been part of starting up that has been granted a full page in the Lonely Planet’s India Guide. What’s that got to do with anything?
Dharamsala is the adopted Indian home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. That means tourists and refugees en masse. Which equals garbage to such an extent that the situation became untenable. IM helped out starting up the Clean Upper Dharamsala Project which includes the Green workers, the Green shop and the Paper Factory.
This is a movie showing the paper factory and it’s workers. It was shot in 2009 by Andreas Nilsson (www.nixonnoxin.com) and Erik Törner from IM Fair Trade. It is part of the longer movie The Fair Production.
